Players Requirements

Carnivals

A final list of carnivals will be provided to the Representative teams ASAP. Please note these carnivals can be played on either a Saturday twilight and Sunday all day.  All players are required to make themselves available to attend all carnivals and State Age.

INA will aim to attend 3-5 carnivals per season.

State Age Attendance

To comply with NQ policies, the top two teams in each age group will be nominated to attend State Age Championships. If there is more than two teams in the same age group, those extra teams will attend association representative carnivals only.

Court Time Allocation

Each player will receive a minimum of 50% playing time during representative carnivals, including day carnivals and the State Age Championship. For instance, if a team participates in 6 games during a carnival, each player must play at least 6 halves on that day.

During the State Age Championship, where teams may play up to 20 games over four days, each player must accumulate a minimum of 20 halves of play throughout the event, with no requirement for even distribution across each day.

This allocation is contingent upon the behaviour of players both on and off the court.

Injuries

Any player that sustains an injury either at training, games, other netball games or outside of netball, that prevents them from participating at training or games is required to notify INA and their coach and manager. The injured player is required to provide a medical clearance confirming they’re fit to return to training and playing to their team manager.

Players withdrawing from Rep

Any player who wishes to withdraw from their Representative team must send an email to Ipswich Netball Association. Please note that the withdrawal is immediate, and there is no cooling-off period once the decision to withdraw has been made. Upon withdrawal, your position will be offered to another player. Ipswich Netball Association will provide confirmation of the withdrawal and advise if any costs are outstanding.

Policy Documents

All player and parent should make themselves aware of the representative policy that relate to them. Click here to view INA Representative Policies.

Role of a Training Partner

A Training Partner is an integral part of the team and plays a crucial role in supporting the development and success of the team throughout the season.

As a Training Partner, you will:

  • Attend all training sessions to assist with drills, skill development, and fitness, helping to create a positive and competitive training environment.
  • Be actively involved in team activities and encouraged to improve your skills alongside the players.
  • Potentially be called upon to play in games or carnivals, providing the team with additional support when needed, especially in situations where a player may be unavailable.
  • Help foster a sense of teamwork and unity by being an active and committed member of the squad.

While Training Partners do not compete in regular matches, they are valued members of the team and provide essential support, both on and off the court.

Uniform Requirements:

As a Training Partner, the only uniform required is the training singlet, which will be provided by INA. There will be no requirement for additional team uniforms until you are called up to play in a match or carnival.

However, if you wish to purchase other team merchandise or uniform items, you are welcome to do so, but this is optional.
